Reader Pics

Thanks to Anne-Marie for sending in these photos she snapped around the neighborhood over the last couple of days.
Stay safe everyone, and be smart!
I've personally noticed that some aren't making much of an effort to stay several feet away from each other. It's a good idea to try to get into that habit. Wearing a mask is a good idea as well. It doesn't hurt to wear one and may help limit the spread. There are several types available on sites like Amazon that won't impact the supplies for health care workers.

Coronavirus Coverage

Trees are already experiencing a nice early Spring bloom in Forest Hills.
Hello Fellow Forest Hillers - I will be trying to post some of the more important local developments as I hear them. And please feel free to use the comments section here for any questions, concerns, observations, etc. you may have. And, if you have any important local announcements, please email them to edgeofthecity@gmail.com

This has been an unsettling time, to say the least. Sharing your feelings and concerns with your fellow New Yorkers helps. We will all get through this together.

It also helps to remember to not become obsessed with watching the news all the time. Stress can negatively impact your health. So, take common-sense precautions, but also don't forget to still enjoy life every day. No one can ever predict the future, so, really, don't worry about it.

Here are some important steps we can all take right now: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/workplace-school-and-home-guidance.pdf

A Peek Inside Trek

Thanks to Shelley for sending in these photos tonight of the inside of the new bike shop opening soon on 70th Road.

New Bike Shop Coming to Forest Hills

I noticed this sleek-looking new bike shop, Trek, is opening on Restaurant Row (70th Road) in Forest Hills, right next to the medical marijuana shop. Imagine that! Something other than a new bank, barbershop or teeny little and curiously-unnecessary mom and pop drugstore is opening here! It is a cause for celebration indeed.

Forest Hills Gardens Is a Favorite for TV and Film Production

Thanks to Michelle for sending in these photos from last year's filming of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in Forest Hills Gardens. Forest Hills seems to be a favorite filming locale for this show. They've shot here quite a few times.

By the way, I believe the upcoming HBO miniseries The Plot Against America also filmed around the neighborhood. Keep an eye out for Forest Hills locations when it begins airing on March 16th.
