My roving reporter was busy today around town. He shot this photo of the side of the Agora Taverna, the new Greek restaurant moving into the old location of Piu Bello on Austin. It is looking nice. They will be able to open these windows on nice days, a touch I always like when dining...
i work there, lol.
ReplyDeletegreat saganaki, salads and pork souvlaki.
ReplyDeleteBest I've had in years, at any of the Astoria greek tavernas
Great food, service & ambiance. A home run!
ReplyDeletei used to work in Pio Bello, I wonder if their hiring in this place now.
ReplyDeleteTERRIBLE FOOD. Those guys can't cook. Just check yelp.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting low quality ingredients (hershey's syrup, fruit cocktail instead of fresh fruit) stale bread, flavourless spreads, bland fish, steak that hasn't been left to sit, confusing brunch menu that is far too long, clueless hostesses, cold entrees, soggy oily fries, undercooked pancakes.
If you're a foodie, say FAR away.
I just did check out Yelp as you suggested. Most of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
ReplyDeleteApparently you had brunch at Agora. Try eating Greek food there, like for lunch or dinner. Ours has been excellent.
Had the filet mignon shish kebob. Steak was tough and overcooked. Appetizer dolmas was tasteless, grape leaves were tough. Overall experience was disappointing!! Will not go back.
