Kung Fu Tea? Funny name. So this is in one of those shops in the White building across the street?
Looks like the HSBC on the Corner of Yellowstone and Queens Blvd will be gone later this year.
Considering the amount of deposits at the branch which were significant I am guessing the landlord forced HSBC out. HSBC took up a lot of space on the ground floor.
They might as well knock down the building and put something nicer in place. The location is ideal and has lots of future potential.
Very excited about this! There are several Kung Fu Tea stores in Flushing and one in Chinatown, the Lower East Side, and Jackson Heights. It's very very delicious!
Unfortunately, FeeFee is right. You have to sell a lot of tea to survive the rents on Austin Street. Or you have to sell cheap pastry, like Fay Da, which is not as popular as it used to be. Martha's Country Bakery is doing well enough to move into a bigger space? go figure......FH wants safe American cakes.....I remember when Austin St. seemed so sophisticated and hot.
In Forest Hills there is an aggressive panhandler hanging around Austin and Continental.
How do we get rid of this person from the area? He actively follows asking for change, and he won't stop following even if it is the same person who repeated says no.
"......FH wants safe American cakes" Please elaborate on the phase. Are you insinuating that the cakes in FayDa are unsafe to eat, or worse poisonous, and moreover un-American? Trying to figure out your logic here given your "sophistication".
Excellent. I still remember about 4 business ideas ago, the great little tea shop in the space that is now the Tap House (is it still the Tap House)

It's actually quite popular in Main Street Flushing.

Looks like a very nice store inside with nice Chinese teas. Culturally different than a Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteNothing impressive about drink stores though.
I give it 18 months tops.
