Coming Soon: Tazzina Forest Hills

More big news to close out the week for us Forest Hillers:

Celebrity chef Jason Zukas, who won the Chopped competition back in 2009, has chosen Forest Hills for his next restaurant.  Here is the website for his other restaurant in Queens. I'm trying to find out the exact location of Tazzina Forest Hills.

  7. the menu on the website isn't updated. Jason has specials every day which is usually what I order because its always excellent.

I hate to compare because they are both excellent, but in my opinion tazzina is better than danny brown, and cheaper...

    1. why do we have to compare? It's great to have a diverse dining scene, no matter how good one restaurant is, you wouldn't want to eat at the same restaurant all the time.

  9. The glendale location was horrible. Right near the tracks with very little walking traffic. Should do well in the forest hills location though. Food is very good

  13. Did not think much of Tazzina. Mediocre at best, which would fit in well with the rest of FH eateries.

  14. Yeah, its an OVERPRICED JOINT with poor food. Why do these folks even bother? They think the clientel is that dumb?

Sorry we are smarter than that. Bann Thai had moderate pricing for what it offered but shut down. :-( I wouldn't be surprised if this takes over the Bann Thai location unfortunately. I was hoping for something really good to replace it that had quality food AND Bann Thai like pricing.

Tazzina isn't something I would be interested in and I sure hope it doesn't move into the Bann Thai location.

  15. It's a good restaurant I've been there several times and it's usually full, hard to get a table sometimes on the weekend. Glad he's coming to forest hills, the Glendale location was too small.

  16. Most likely Metro Av.
He is paying cheap rent in Glendale. He would be foolish to pay the exorbitant rates on Austin.

  17. Great restaurants don't have to pay the ridiculous rents of Austin Street. They only need to be relatively close to their customer base, who will seek them out, rather than the other way around. Mediocre restaurants, on the other hand, have to be in a prime location to attract customers, usually people who want to be in the "hip" part of town and don't know good food from bad.

  19. Glendale does appreciate good restaurants and it was the owner who closed the restaurant because it only had 14 tables.
