A new Thai restaurant, The Old Siam, is taking over the former Bann Thai location at 6912 Austin St. Reader Premie sent in this photo below and says "It looks like the inside is almost completely renovated. I don't know if it's the same owners because I absolutely loved Bann Thai but at least it's still Thai!!"

When Michelin, the French publisher of travel books, issued its 2014 New York City dining guide this month, it gave stars to 58 restaurants in Manhattan, six in Brooklyn — and one in the entire borough of Queens. That Queens restaurant was the Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen, a cozy Continental on Metropolitan Avenue and 71st Drive in Forest Hills.
Danny Brown deserves that star. Its the only place in Forest Hills worth eating at.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Danny Brown's brussel spouts salad but when I went about a month ago the portion size seemed to have dwindled dramatically and it just didn't taste as good. Incredibly oily and strange... anyone else notice this issue?
DeleteI hear the sisters brought in a partner and the space is being reconfigured. Bigger Bar, better kitchen layout.
ReplyDeleteAs to Danny Brown's, never had a bad meal there. I love the golden beets; duck, arugula w/calamari. Whatever, always a great meal.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with the signage of the new Thai place? The extreme font looks more fitting for a pub . Wrong impression right the bat
