First, a new sneaker store on Queens Blvd. in the former Spin Cycle bike shop location...
And the former Stoa jewelry store location on Austin St. is being converted into some kind of coffee place. Not sure if that means cafe with light fare, or more of a coffee-only place, or a coffee place/bakery. If anyone has any info., please comment below, thanks

I hope these guys do it right; the coffee sucks around here!! (except Silk Cakes -- but that's on Metro). We need a business with Stumptown/Blue Bottle/etc... doing pour over (drip coffee) -- not that mush which has been sitting around in a container! -- and can we get some proper baristas! Not some high, high school kids...
ReplyDeleteGotta go to Moe's?
ReplyDeleteLa Boulangerie makes great coffee...
ReplyDeleteNo, they don't -- I actually was hoping they'd be good but alas...no...standard coffee from a container -- technique matters -- regardless if they have fresh beans...!
DeleteJack and Nellies does well with their brunch -- they french press each serving.
No more bike shop?! Noooooooooooooo! Where are cyclists supposed to go now? This is really disappointing despite the fact that a sneaker shop sounds pretty good.
ReplyDeleteDude, that bike shop moved about 3 years ago. How affected can you possibly be if you didn't even know that? (respectfully ;)
DeleteBike shop is next to the old Trylon theater.
ReplyDeleteAny Updates on El Coyote on Austin St?
ReplyDeleteAny news on the former Laytner's on Austin. Large space, prime location.
ReplyDeleteTazzina is open on metro!
ReplyDeleteAustin St. area has not had an independent sneaker store on it since the late 80's with "Kings & Queens"... we have brief visit from Foot Locker when Woolworth closed up shop but that quickly went away and apparently is popping up nearly a decade later at Atlas Park. Curious what is to come of this shop. Hopefully something better than Sports Lane minimal offering...
ReplyDeleteFYI - Nine West on Austin St has closed down.
