So, I guess out with the tea, in with the art. Here's version 2 of the new Austin coffee spot's sign. An interesting change. The term "art" is quite broad, and could mean anything artistic I suppose. Thanks again to Joe for the pic, and for keeping an eye on the ever-changing Pink Forest coffee shop!
I hope this is a real coffee shop, with well trained and experienced baristas. The last thing we need is a place that presents itself as a coffee place but knows nothing about making an espresso based cup beyond what the salesman who sold them the machine taught them in 15 minutes. The "...& Art" part is what worries me. I would love to be wrong!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink facade!
ReplyDeleteThe Pink is a bit Pepto-Bismo'ly for me, but as Macon points out, if it means a place to have coffee made by experienced baristas, I can move past the color. That is something sorely lacking in our neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Art, I'd love it to be a local venue for local artists to display and sell their artwork. Both Red Pipe and Ovo Sodo have dabbled in that to some extent.
Not very optimistic about this one, anymore. I walked by while some of the employees were cleaning inside and I asked one of the girls what type of beans they were going to be brewing and she replied with "Uhhh...Colmumbian!"
ReplyDeleteHopefully they have single origin coffee similar to Red Pipe, who imo brews one of the very top roasters.
Any word on when this is opening?
ReplyDeleteJust walked by, and it's opening Friday. And they're touting Jiang Bing. Fingers crossed that it's not terrible.
