FDNY Open house This Sunday

June 17th, 2018, 1 PM – 3 PM FDNY Open house at Pride of the Hills" Firehouse: Engine-305, Ladder 151,  111-02 Queens Blvd. Forest Hills, NY

This landmarked firehouse has been in operation since 1924 and is one of the oldest operating firehouses in the city.

Throughout the day Firefighters, Paramedics and EMTs will be educating the public about fire and life safety, conducting demonstrations, discussing the Department’s storied history, and offering tours of FDNY apparatus (engines, ladders and ambulances). Thanks to generous support from the FDNY Foundation, members will be distributing free smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, fire safety coloring books, fire helmets for children and educational material promoting fire and life safety tips. This event is free and open the public.

Rash of Fires Under Investigation

Six of the seven recent fires that have ravaged Forest Hills buildings in recent weeks have been deemed suspicious, according to the 112th Precinct — prompting the local police to enlist the help of the NYPD's arson unit.

And Yet Another Fire Tonight

This one's on 66th Avenue & 108th Street... The police say it is another residential fire of a house under construction. Thanks to Natalya for emailing in these pics. The first was tweeted by the Police tonight.

The 112th Precinct tonight tweeted: "We're aware of the recent rash of residential fires in Forest Hills We're coordinating with FDNY and other investigative authorities."









Fire in Forest Hills Injures Two This Morning

An early morning fire today at the Normandy apartment building at 106-15 Queens Blvd., located between Jewel Ave. and Queens Blvd., has reportedly injured two people, one critically. Thanks to Dawn for sending in these photos this morning.
