Hooray!! This may just be some of the most awesome news I have had a chance to report in the two years I have been doing this blog: Bareburger Rising
Heres' the link to Bareburger's site: http://www.bareburger.com/
I have never been to Bareburger, and don't know anyone who has. But that's not the point. The fact that this new burger place has chosen Austin St. as one of its locations, along with Astoria, Park Slope, Chelsea and the NYU neighborhood in the Village, says tons about our neighborhood and how it is changing. :)

This is amazing news!!
ReplyDeleteI've been to the Astoria location and am happy to say this is a really good place! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteGreat place... I'm sold.
ReplyDeleteOrganic lower fat burgers. Not the McDonalds garbage. Much healthier for those who demand burger cravings.
ReplyDeleteWas listening to Newt Gingrich and hes mentioned McDonalds a few times already talking about businesses. But here is an example of someone trying a concept which I hope works out well and succeeds in the marketplace. It would be great if America had more of these as a replacement to McDonalds forcing them to offer healthier menu item choices.
Where on Austin Street?! Trying to think which storefronts are available....
ReplyDelete71-49 Austin Street ... the former site of the Lee Martin Salon.
ReplyDeleteI just love when fabulous food spots open in the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteGood news, but HILARIOUS how excited all of us in the 'hood get at the thought of some decent and tasty food coming to FH, LMAO! It just goes to show how desperate we are for some reasonably priced, GOOD food! Maybe this will be the start of a trend that FH has been waiting for, the opening of restaurants that actually offer its residents a nice and tasty meal...one can only dream, right?
ReplyDeleteThey have exotic meat choices. Bison is a very good meat. People are pickier than ever and a place like that will do very well here.
ReplyDeleteUnlike 5 Guys Burger and Fries, which is also well run, they have healthier and more selection.
It was rated #2 burger in NYC by Zagats and I think this will be a clear winner for burgers beating out all the other places hands down.
They offer Vegetarian and Turkey and Bison and other quality meats unlike McDonalds.
I remember when Cheeburger came out and people were applauding it. Well this one is far superior.
ReplyDeleteAn Early Christmas gift! I was eating in the Astoria location last weekend and asked "Why doesn't FOHI have a Bareburger?"
ReplyDeleteYes, Santa Claus does exist!
