Holiday Decorations

Here's one of the nicer ones, on 71st Road, north side of Queens Blvd. Send me your holiday decoration photos and I'll post them ( email them to edgeofthecity@gmail.com ). Indoors or out, it's all good. Maybe we'll even put them up for a vote for "Best of 2012." Happy Holidays!

  1. The 8th annual Columbus Circle Holiday Market is officially open now through December 24th. Walk a few blocks north from Griffin Court into a winter wonderland on the edge of Central Park South. Grab a cup of hot cocoa from one of the local food vendors and meander through over 100 booths, each offering a wide variety of unique and handmade gifts.

    1. Drake, you should delete this Chelsea spammer.

To Barren: Avoid Manhattan crowds and tourists by shopping on Forest Hills' famed AUSTIN STREET. Support our local economy. Avoid overpriced and crowded tourist traps in Manhattan like Columbus Circle and Herald Square. We have everything a shopper needs. Visit Metropolitan Avenue for its outstanding array of mom and pop stores selling unique, one of a kind items.

    2. The last I heard Forest Hills was part of New York City, the same city that Columbus Circle is in. If they want to tell my readers about a charming place to do holiday shopping that is just a short subway ride away, I don't see the problem with it. What's wrong with a little competition? And if Forest Hills retailers are so concerned about this, they should step up their game. The last I heard, Edge of the City Blog was not a blog in communist China or some other place where freedom of speech was curtailed, but in the US of A.
