  1. What is this??? This belongs in the advertisement section. Warning: Keep this up and people will stop reading this "blog"

  2. If its related to the neighborhood, I'm not gonna hate. A guy's gotta feed his family and we're not exactly sending him a check for his hard work, so no biggie. I don't need the workshop, but good to know for those that do.

    1. So true! I would have listed this under "events" or something but it's not my blog. Enjoying the (freeee) blog posts and replies.

  3. Anyone know what happened Saturday night/Sunday morning at 1:15am? Some sort of commotion or fight and cops were called.

    1. Whoops. It happened right in front of Starbucks on 71st Ave. Lots of people.

  4. Seriously Drake? This is totally disappointing. Blatant solicitation. Hope you got paid well by the sponsor for this rubbish event.

  5. Drake just promotes what goes on in the community. But face it, many of the people who are attacking this event could very well be the ones who would benefit the most from it.

A lot of Yoga studios have gone up around the nation and Forest Hills got a few new ones in the last few years. Obviously they want to branch out to workshops to attract more revenue.

I still remember this clip years ago back from the old days of Eric Schmidt doing public speaking:

where do you get off on being the authority on who needs help? Maybe you should sign up first since you love it so much.

    4. Look at my postings over the years. Do you really think Drake would have maintained a double personality over 2 years posting random things only to use it to stand up for himself when someone posts something he does not agree with? : )

    5. Annie, don't waste your time. You're dealing with the troll who pops up here every so often. And remember, don't feed the trolls!

  8. Drake gets money through each click on the site and ads.

    1. As an online marketer that is wrong. He doesn't get paid for every click on the site. And ads pay less than $1 per click. Give the guy a break.

  9. This blog is OK at times and ridiculous at other times. If it were less whiney I'd stand up for it. Read Brownstoner Queens and you will see what a serious well run neighborhood blog should look like.

    1. Drake needs to step up his game...Brownstoner Queens just posted an article about the DOT's plan to put left turn bays at the intersection of Metropolitan Ave and 71st Ave. No mention of this news on this blog.

  10. Seriously? Brownstoner Queens just started. They are ok, but need to pick up speed. They have missed several good stories this summer. I also think it is ridiculous that they use the word Brownstoner when refering to a Queens blog. I understand that the blog falls under the Brownstoner umbrella but they could've come up with a better name while retaining their branding. Their Upstate blog is called Upstate by Brownstoner. Sounds better that Brownstoner Upstate no?

    1. No. I like Brownstoner Upstate. Maybe the Queens version should have been No Brownstones in Queens!

  11. You're right, Brownstoner Queens is a great blog. They have a good post about the intersection of 71st Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue being revamped by DOT. Check it out:
