  1. This is great news. It's about time we have a gay bar in the area. I hope it does well.

  3. Bad name. Tacky logo. The back of a gay motorcycle gang's leather jacket would be more suitable. Even The Castro or Provencetown doesn't have anything this over-the-top and ill-conceived. I guess the owner didn't get the memo about post-gay New York City and how many gay bars have closed recently (Splash, Rawhide, The Web).

    1. Agree, the logo is like a bad tatoo. So tacky, bad news for straight or gay motorcycle gangs....

  4. I agree about the name and logo. A little subtlety would have worked better. In any case, this is good news.

    1. You talking Liberace-like subtlety or RuPaul? Just wondering.

    2. The logo conjures up imagery of a leather bar. Looks similar to the Harley logo. It just looks really cliche and unoriginal. And they named it "Pride" and threw in the rainbow colors on top of that. I don't know, it's just overkill. As a gay man, I am happy about the bar, but the logo is just a little bit trite.

  5. We haven't had a guy bar here since Breadstix closed. It's about time.

    2. I went to that link and read the story. The first sentence did not leave me with a good feeling. :" The first gay bar in Forest Hills, which is slated to open on Austin Street next week, will host weekend brunches featuring loud music, an upbeat atmosphere and possibly hookah, the owner said..." I don't know about you, but this does not sound like a well thought out business plan to me.
