New Gay Bar Coming to Forest Hills

The outdoor area used by the former Common Space.
A new gay bar called "PRIDE Forest Hills' Gay Bar and Lounge" will be opening the weekend of the 26th in the Forest Hills "mall" on Austin St., where Common Space lounge used to be. I am told it is owned by the same person who owns the nearby Corfu Grill.

Common Space used to make really nice use of the outdoor space in the back. I'm trying to find out more details about PRIDE, including if they will be using that space, but that seems like a nobrainer.

  1. Nice! Another reason to love our diverse and all-inclusive 'hood!

  2. Wow, that's pretty significant. Besides the inclusiveness factor, the last club-type place I can recall on Austin Street was Heskel's, and that was in Prehistoric times.

  4. Is it the same owner as Corfu next door? They proudly fly a rainbow flag in their window.

  5. Never mind...just read the caption that says it is the same owner as Corfu.

    1. Austin St. after 11 pm on a weeknight is not what you'd think. A bad crowd hangs around 5 Burro and a few other bars. They are DEFINITELY not local residents. I've heard of drug dealing going on at these places late at night.

  8. Not sure what to make of it just yet. Looking at the logo, understated is not probably not the mo. Hopefully we can all get along?
