The "Blizzard" of 2015

I guess this one will be mostly remembered here for images like these, as things came to a virtual standstill on the usually crowded Queens Blvd. as the storm got going last night:

  1. The sledding hill at Deepdene was crazy today. Tons of kids having a blast. Until the Gardens parking thugs came and booted everyone's car. It was such a lousy thing to do. I walked there, but still - this was one day where they should have just let it go.

So if you see a car with a Gardens sticker on it at an expired meter, call the cops right away. Let's all get each other in trouble - now that's a fun community to live in.

  2. I was there too and told the Gardens Parking Thug to take a hike!

  3. Oh, well. At least we got some cool photos out of it.

  4. The rules are clearly posted; not sure how people illegally parking are victims while workers doing their jobs are "thugs." The park is technically for Gardens residents only and maintained with annual fees, but apparently allowing anyone to come and sled is not enough; everyone must also be allowed to park. Let us know where we can find your driveway/parking spot so we can avail ourselves of such generosity.

  5. You mean garden renters? So impressed. And yes I would ABSOLUTELY welcome people to come to my place on a snow day and have fun. You do remember fun don't you?

  6. Kind of a let down. The '96 blizzard was CRAZY. I was only nine at the time, but I have clear memories of all the adults around me losing their minds over it.

  7. Wow can't believe I'm hearing this . If you don't have a parking pass you shouldn't be parking there. End of story ! What dif does it make whether renter or owner ?
