Let's Party!

So this is what's going in where Laytner's used to be... I guess some competition for that ramshackle party store over near Queens Blvd. that has been there since the earth cooled. (I actually like that store, it's quite an interesting experience, in a legacy Forest Hills sort of way.)

I guess I could have entitled this post "Battle of the Party Stores!" But that would be too CNNish...

  1. I love that "ramshackle" party goods store too. They have some really interesting stuff. I bought a (cheap) suitcase there years ago that is still in perfectly good working order despite being dragged all over the globe on rough pavements, and back when I had no internet connection I used their computers. A real "nabe" joint.

  2. I shop at that store too. Half price greeting cards, gift wrap, even found a spray bottle there that I needed last weekend. This new store is much closer to me so it kind of depends on what they sell and how much it costs.

  6. There are THREE eyeglasses shops on Continental between Queens Blvd and Austin. Four if you count the one around the corner on Austin. I don't understand how they all stay in business.

  7. Austin Street becomes more and more boring. Walk in clinics, pharmacies, banks, party stores, snooze
