I'll be posting readers' pics of tonight's concert all weekend. If you take any, email them to edgeofthecity@gmail.com
By the way, here's a cool pic of The Who concert taken from the band's website.

Great performance! Surprised it wasn't sold out.
ReplyDeletePics, please! :)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why Taj Mahal was a no-show?
ReplyDeleteTaj Mahal has been ill and has cancelled his appearances at several shows. Google it.
DeleteWent to the concert. The most uncomfortable seating of any venue. Portapotties with 15 minute lines. Never again.
ReplyDeleteWhaaaaa! If you would have looked around genius you would have seen that there were multiple locations for porto potties and you wouldn't have waited at all. The lines built up at the main locations because people are blind and didn't look around the place. I've seen every show since this thing started up again and I've never waited 15 minutes for anything.
DeleteI've gone to perhaps 100 concerts in my life and not once did I have to use restroom facilities . I always go before I leave home.
ReplyDeleteYou must be a camel!
DeleteD'Angelo was by far the loudest concert this far. I'm still a huge fan of these concerts.
ReplyDeleteBrewster - drove up from southern Virginia to witness Van the Man. Ok, I have witnessed and enjoyed the show... somewhat. For someone who means so much to North Americans and the music he has produced, me included, the show lacked the professionalism the artist deserves. The person who worked the lights and the person who worked the sound must have been the same person and texting his fascination to his/her mother all the while. Each time the musicians who traded off licks or whichever singer would take over, the featured performer was well into his lick before either the lights or sound person remembered to light him up or turn up his volume; unprofessional and distracting. All said, the travel to Forest Hills was fun, the venue was fun even though we were in the last row up and had a back rest to keep us from falling out of the stadium. The weather was perfect with a nice breeze and the skyline view was beautiful. The best part was that I was with my family and ain't nothing can top that.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it. Did you patronize any of Forest Hills' fine establishments either before or after the show?
DeleteI can't believe you traveled so far! Best fan ever!
Delete(In comparison, all I had to do was walk three blocks :)
We traveled from Ohio to see Van that night. It was #1 on our bucket list. We danced to Crazy Love at our wedding and listened to his music non-stop in the hospital when our baby was sick. I've been listening to Van since I was a child. His music means a lot to us. We bought a poster at the show and planned on having it framed to hang in our home. Unfortunately, someone stole it that night. I can't find another one anywhere. If anyone can help us locate one we would be SO grateful!
ReplyDeleteI contacted the designer, as my posted got destroyed in the rain that night, and he posted some for sale on his website. I just ordered mine! Hope this helps!
