Blizzard of 2016

Edge of the City is officially in "Special Blizzard Alert Mode." The National Weather Service just upped its forecast to 12 to 18 inches for the City, making this officially the Blizzard of 2016 (that is, if it doesn't miss us and we get nothing like last year's Blizzard of 2015.)

  1. Did anyone go into The Natural today, or any of the other popular food markets? I bet they were madhouses.

    1. I was there around 3:00 pm and didn't see especially large mobs of crazed shoppers. I stood on line for no more than two or three minutes before making my purchase. Actually, I was pretty surprised by how calm things seemed.

  4. NWS missed it by a foot! They need better computers and models.

    1. You're probably right, but I think good forecasting requires exceptional meteorologists who use the models to SUPPORT their work, not do it for them like to many of the TV weather people do, because their performance especially has been absolutely dreadful. They have been continuously wrong in their forecasts and yet continue to do the weather with huge smiles on their faces!
