Score One For The Guys!
Here's a twist for Austin St. - a new barber shop, for a change, instead of another hair salon! And it looks kinda cute too! It's kind of giving off that old-time barber shop-feel, isn't it? Looks interesting...
It will be located between 72nd Ave. and 72nd Road on Austin Street, I believe where the italian ices place used to be, next to the new Rove restaurant.

Trees!
I walked down to Metropolitan to see a movie yesterday and on the way back shot these pics of some of the gorgeous trees in the Gardens and nearby. The time of day and the less humid air that filtered into the area late yesterday had the sun highlighting them magnificently. Too often we forget to stop and really notice the simple beautiful things that are all around us. Luckily, those of use who live in and near Forest Hills have this magnificent landscape to appreciate.

Storm Watch Begins!
Edge of the City is in storm watch mode over the Labor Day Weekend! Will try to keep readers up to date with any local news related to the storm, which, as of this time is expected to hang around just offshore through the middle of next week. The effects on the City are hard to predict at this time due to the expected path offshore. It could be dramatic, or it could be very little. Time will tell.
I shot this pic early this morning, the calm before the storm...
