Scenes from Halloween 2018 in Forest Hills

The crowds stretched as far as the eye could see as trick-or-treaters headed towards Burns Street to check out the annual decorations. And this year, as usual, they did not disappoint!

Happy Halloween!

Forest Hills is a great place to be Halloween.  First, this afternoon, all the stores along Austin St. start giving out candy to the kids, and then, as the sun goes down, the celebration moves over to Burns Street in The Gardens as all the spooky decorations come to life...  Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween 2016 Pics

There were taken on Burns Street. The last one was in Natural, where it was amusing to see a pig at checkout and a few witches doing their shopping...

First Pumpkin of the Season Spotted

I was walking down Austin yesterday and I spotted the first pumpkin of the season, just in time for Halloween month!

Spooky Manhattan Mansions

The real estate prices aren't the only things that are scary this year in Greenwich Village.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Best Halloween Decorations

I'm liking the holiday spirit of Station House this year. It'd be nice if more places in Forest Hills put as much effort into their appearance and celebrating these holidays...

Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat!

By the way, Whoopi Goldberg is the Grand Marshall of tonight's 41st Annual Village Halloween Parade... Happy Halloween everybody!

Of course, no Halloween would be complete without a bit of spooky creepiness from the original classic Halloween movie (not those crappy remakes):

Santa Fe Mystery Solved—For Now

Whelp, apparently this is the best they can do with this prime restaurant location—for now, anyway. The mystery is solved thanks to Vincent who tweeted me this pic this morning. No new restaurant (all those comments on the old post apparently were based on someone who pulled that out of their #&@), no new apartment building, but those who bet on a Halloween costume pop-up store for the old Santa Fe location bet right. Not to say a new restaurant or apartment building won't follow once the holiday is over. So, we have a whole row of restaurants that draw people from all over Queens... and then Halloween costumes. Makes no sense to me, but whatever....

Boo !

This to me will always be the ultimate Halloween treat. There have been many copies, but nothing is like the original (at least I don't think so. I've never seen the copies.):

But I have to say for creepiest movie I have ever seen, there is this one. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. But not with the lights off!:

And, I'm sorry, but this one really scared the hell out of me when I had the unpleasant experience of stumbling on it late one night on cable and watching it all alone. I had no idea just how genuinely scary it would be (maybe it was because of all those camping trips I've been on?):

But in terms of plain gross-out, creepy, scary unpleasantness, nothing really has ever beaten this in my opinion:
