  4. That's a very old structure. They will have to do a lot of work and first get approval from DOB. This idea of a roof top garden is a very long shot.

  5. I remember a rumor a couple of summers ago that Austin Public was in the process of getting a permit for a rooftop garden. I guess either the rumor was wrong, or they couldn't get the permit? But that would've been cool.

  6. There is no chance they get the permits to put a rooftop there. Makes no sense. Like the previous person said the structure is very old and also surrounded by apartments. Probably just a ploy to try to steal attention away from the cobblestones beer garden opening up

  7. They said long ago that they plan to have a hydroponic garden for the restaurant. Perhaps that's all they're referring to. If you look at that roof, there doesn't seem to be room for dining, even if it were structurally sound.

  8. It's only a single floor ... what's the purpose of a rooftop garden? Just a gimmick to increase floor space? How does a rooftop garden figure into occupancy limits? Arrgh ... I got sidetracked. Gimme some smoked beef ribs.

  9. The idea of a rooftop garden certainly has its appeal, since no one else in FH has it to offer yet. If they can manage to pull it off then props to them

    1. I thought the rooftop garden sounded cool but then when I walked by the place the other day I said "eh, not so fast." The place really isn't that big, they have a massive central air system mounted on the roof and the place is too low to have much rooftop appeal - rooftop places have more appeal when they're a bit higher up- at least 3 floors or more. This place feels right on top of the street. Either way, finish the renovation and open already! They were supposed to open back in April!
