Marijuana Dispensary Coming to Restaurant Row

Yep, the rumors were true, according to the website Forest Hills Post today.

Odd idea for Restaurant Row to say the least (though they'll probably have edibles, I would think.) I mean, considering all the many different types of eateries we still don't have in Forest Hills, a marijuana dispensary for half of the former Santa Fe BBQ location?

Forest Hills never fails to surprise me, I'll give it that.

Marijuana Dispensary to Open in Forest Hills This Summer
Curaleaf dispensary will offer “pharmaceutical-quality cannabis treatments” at 107-18 70 Rd, the former location of Santa Fe Steakhouse. The cannabis is intended to treat patients from across the city who suffer from illnesses such as chronic pain, PTSD, cancer and other conditions, according to the company.

  1. Awesome. We can't keep grocery stores, have more and more homeless wondering the streets, and have tons of empty store fronts from greedy landlords, but let's make sure people can get their-surely totally medically necessary-pot.

  2. I have no problem with one of these in FoHi, but why one Restaurant Row? Ruins the ambiance.

  3. I'm not crazy about the idea mainly because I think it would fit better on a different block, but right on the so-called "restaurant row" doesn't seem appropriate.

  4. Its a good spot as it does not directly face any residential property. It is simply a different type of medical administration office. I walk there all the time, there is nothing to see but a cheerful modern storefront. The inside looks like a bank lobby in Boca Raton.
