Large New Building Planned for Queens Blvd. in Rego Park

From the website New York Yimby comes the news of a large new construction project going up in nearby Rego Park. The size of this development I thought made it worthy to be featured on EOTC:

Permits Pre-Filed For 98-04 Queens Boulevard, Rego Park, Queens
The 265-foot tall structure will yield 384,630 square feet, with 136,780 square feet dedicated to residential use, 24,960 square feet dedicated to ground floor retail, and 30,230 square feet dedicated to an unspecified community facility. A 411-car garage will occupy the rest of the space. 116 apartments will be created, averaging 1,180 square feet apiece, indicating condominiums.

  1. It might be a nice addition, provided that the ground floor retail is something the neighborhood could actually use, such as a Whole Foods.

  3. Crazy how long it takes for these buildings. I remember seeing an announcement about that almost 3 yrs ago, and they had the businesses in the former building leave shortly after. Figure it will be another yr, at least, before construction is finished
