  1. I have long said Forest Hills is the last nice place you can get a 2 bed/2 bath for under a million in NYC.

    What the article doesn't mention is Forest Hills is also the most affordable place in NYC to raise a family. It is by far the safest neighborhood on that list too. It has the best schools.

  2. Be glad that the article doesn't mention raising a family here. I wish FH wasn't on that list at all. The schools and daycare centers are at full capacity, we don't need more couples with kids flocking here to overcrowd the schools. And as far as affordability goes, it depends what someone is looking for. If they want an apartment in a pre war building in a not so 'hip' area, that's fine. Once you start looking at 2 bedrooms in a newer building with amenities, you are in the 1 mil plus range and single family houses you are definitely over 1 mil and will probably have some fixing to do.

  3. There are only 3-4 buildings here where a 2 bed is over 1 mil. The elementary schools are all expanding with two big expansions opening fall 2019.
