Store wars

I've noticed a few store changes/moves lately.  In no particular order:

Long time Austin Street resident Petland Discounts closed shop.

The vacuum clearer repair shop on Austin, just off Ascan, relocated to the space formerly occupied by Snowdays.  I thought Snowdays was pretty good, but not an easy year-round business to be in.

New Japanese restaurant Hinoki opened in the A&J Pizza space.

HSBC bank on Continental moving one space over to the former Payless shoe store space.  They'll be leaving a huge space behind.

  1. Any word on the C Town space? I thought Natural was taking over but there's no sign of anything happening.

    1. I heard a while back that that had fell through and was not going to happen. Haven’t heard about any other plans for the space since then.

    2. That's disappointing to hear. Its an odd space for that block. It seems too big for a restaurant, too small for a supermarket (as we saw with C Town, and with Natural and Foodtown so close, that's a bad idea). What do fellow Edge of the City fans think it should be?

  2. What about the space next to the Bareburger?

  3. One of the spaces near the 71st Ave Capital One/watch store has signs coming soon for Meet Chicken and Mi Tea. Will send you a pick.
