Marianella's New Sign

The sign/awning is up for the new Mexican restaurant, Marianella's Taqueria, at 106-11 71st Avenue.

A reader snapped this pic with his cell phone and sent it in to me...

Couldn't they have created a more exciting awning?

For a restaurant that is bringing "the next level of casual Mexican fusion" (their website claim) to the Austin St./Continental Ave. promenade, the awning screams "just-another-cheap-Mexican-food place".

  2. If they can't put up a decent sign, what makes people think they'll be able to run a restaurant. Their address appears more times than the restaurant name. Another FOHI restaurant nightmare.

  3. No liquor license. Looks like fast food in my book. At least Chipolte has Beer.

  4. I agree with the commentary of blogger "Crossing Queens Blvd." In addition, what is the purpose of repeating the address twice? The canopy and the storefront is nothing special.

  5. I walked in and the place looks amazing and they have a full bar with two flat screens. Glancing at the menu board it seems their prices are more than reasonable. A nice alternative to McDonald's next door. I had to leave because apparently they are not open until April 6th. I am definately gonna give it a try. I agree though, they have to do something about the double address on the awning.

  6. Yeah, I looked through the glass and the design is quite original. The menu is posted on the door and they seem to have a great selection with very affordable prices. I can't wait to try the food!. We definately needed a fast fun Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. Also it seems like a hip place to hang out during happy hour.
