New Indian Restaurant

Some photos of the new Indian restaurant, Haveli, that opened last week at 116-33 Queens Blvd. I haven't eaten there yet, but I will try it soon and post a review, along with their menu.

The manager is a former manager of the Baluchi's Indian restaurant, right nearby on Queens Blvd.

This is an enormous restaurant with 3 floors. It's good to have another Indian restaurant locally, in addition to Baluchi's. That is, if the food is good! Has anyone tried it yet?

  1. Is that the same manager who was accused of using racist business practices? If so, I'll be sure not to dine there, and encourage others to do the same. Story about Baluchi's is linked below:

  3. OK, but let's not call for a boycott of a new business until you know a) if it is the same manager b) what really happened at Baluchi's, which isn't totally clear from that story.

  4. Vittles @ Haveli better than Baluchi's, in my opinion, but I do miss Meehak. Saw construction going on in the KG burnt out location. Anyone know what is coming there?

  5. Is this the same Haveli as in the East Village? We'd definitely be interested in trying a new location. Would be great to have it a little closer to us in Forest Hills.

  6. Hey Peeps! The former manager of Balluchis is NOT the actual owner of Haveli. Last week I met the actual owner of Haveli. He's a nice man. I REALLY LOVE the food there.. the food is spectacular. Chicken Tangri, Butter chicken, and grilled non veg foods are amazing. I reccomend everyone to go there. FYI get facts right. The Balluchi's former manager is the manager of Haveli, not the owner.

  8. James, the former manager of Baluchi's is not the same guy. That guy was Asif who did all of the mess in Baluchi'. Gary Walia is the manager of Haveli. @Vantage Properties, the New Haveli is in Forest Hills/ Queens Blvd. Its very sanitary and amazing in everything. Oh yeah also, the owner of The Haveli in Forest Hills is different than the owner of the Haveli in East Village. Different peoplee. Also I recommend this to anyone who Likes indian Food or whoever wants a different experience. YOU SHOULD DEFINETLY GO THERE!! I <3 HAVELI!

  11. The food from Northern India: Mainly breads with dishes which has a thick sauce and dairy products such as cream, paneer, ghee, and youghurt. These dishes are warmly flavoured rather than heat from chillies.
