  1. Any word on when Chipotle will be opening?

  2. Another generic, overpriced chain restaurant turning Austin Street into a strip mall in Anywhere, USA. What's next, Olive Garden and Red Lobster? I'll stick to 5 Burro, thank you.

    1. I agree - however their food isnt bad. Also, it beats an empty store.... All those empty stores on the eastern end of Austin are sad. They are such small spaces for what I can imagine as very high rent. Wish they could be combined into something useful

  3. 5 Burro is more of a nightspot. A tiny, overcrowded, noisy nightspot. You go there to "hang out." I really don't see the comparison. But you're welcome to stick to it. I don't need a "hangout" to shout myself hoarse while waiting forever for my overpriced food, packed in like a sardine with so-called music blasting at ridiculous, headache-inducing volume. I'd rather grab my food and leave, or sit and eat in a spacious, quiet, clean atmosphere, 5 minutes after coming through the door. Different strokes, I guess.

    1. I can see what you mean, but I don't really agree. Yes, it has a nice bar, but 5 Burro is just as much a restaurant. If you're claustrophobic and it's a Saturday night, you might feel a little crowded. But I've been there plenty of other times during the week where it's not that crowded and is a fun place to eat and of course the food is for the most part excellent. Chipotle, while pretty good for fast food, is still fast food. I don't think their food is of the caliber of 5 Burros.
