Indie Coffee Shop Location

If — and it is still a big "if" since absolutely nothing has been confirmed yet — we do get a new indie coffee shop, this is the location in Station Square they are thinking of. It is on Greenway Terrace.

  2. I thought they were going to get the property with the greenhouse. I used to go to Dorina when she was in that location. There is no way they could even fit a kitchen plus customers in there.

  3. Yes, it's possible that the proposed space will be too small, even with some outdoor seating. I probably would have made an offer on the former Old Vienna Cafe, which also has a large enough space for outdoor seating on the side. That space was really crying out for a perfect coffee/tea, light meals, dessert and drinks cafe, much like the Theatre Cafe successfully compliments the movie theater on Metropolitan Ave.

I also hope the former Staples on Austin will be turned into something extremely helpful for the neighborhood!

    1. Oops... that should have read, "complements the movie theater"... Hopefully, we will all be giving our compliments, if all these new cafes and restaurants offer us the perfect variety of options for drinks and dining, in the future!

    2. That depends if you consider buffalo wings extremely helpful for the neighborhood cause that's what supposedly has leased the old Staples location: http://www.buffalowildwings.com/

    3. Was in Kansas City back in the Fall and went to one of these places for the first time. Not my scene, but it was a fun place to watch a Football game.

Many thanks for all the excellent updates and your wonderful blog! I'm personally not fond of buffalo wings, but the B-Dubs menu also seems full of other types of pub grub and drinks.

I wonder if the new indie coffee shop wouldn't be better off considering the former Liang's space on restaurant row, instead of the station square spot? Once again, I really appreciate all your neighborhood news and your keeping us informed...

  4. Oh no!
Grease covered sidewalks and chicken bones scattered all over Continental Ave! Flushing, here we come!

  5. We noticed the windows are covered in the space next to Terrace Realty (renovation underway?) -- most likely for this coffee shop?
