Post Show Pics

Some folks have expressed an interest in what FoHi was like post-concert last night. Here's some pics I took as we left the show. From what I saw, Station House and Banter seemed to be particularly popular spots for the concert-goers...

  1. As non-diverse a crowd as I expected I'd see. Sure as heck doesn't look like the crowd I saw on the F train coming home.

    1. What exactly is that supposed to mean?

    2. That there a lot of people like this douche who think that its not racist when they make statements like that! You sir or madame, are a racist. plain and simple. Imagine if someone said something like that after a different type of crowd was at the stadium.

  2. Can't wait for the first hip hop concert to be held at the West Side Stadium. You'll get your F train crowd then.

  3. New York is only diverse when people are brought together by something outside their control, like having to take the subway to work. Once some kind of choice is involved - friendship, romance, taste in music, etc - that diversity vanishes into thin air.

  4. Jay Z will keep the hip hop at Barclay's. We'll take the folk rock here in FoHi.

  6. I saw a lot of Forest Hills natives at the show actually. Although I did direct some people as I was waiting for my wife to meet me. All in all I think it went off pretty flawlessly, other than it totally being overbooked. That Stadium does not hold 18,500.

    1. This is just my theory, if the stadium was designed a hundred years ago to seat 14,000 and people are fatter today; and the promotors used the original bench capacity, that would explain why people could not get into the stadium.

  7. The tickets were numbered to 18,499. One way or another, there's no way this Stadium can fit that many people.

For comparison, Jones Beach can hold 15,000. I just don't see the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium being larger than Jones Beach.

  8. I think they had doubt about who would actually make it to the event. Even though it was a sold out show, they were probably concerned that not all ticket holders would've shown up, it would've looked bad in part of the tennis stadium as a whole, and it would've otherwise given a first bad impression to other potential artists. Mumford can comfortably say it was a sold out show and have beautiful pics to show for it, they dont have to go into detail that they had to sell double the capacity to get every seat filled.
