  1. What a hideous eyesore. But then again, Queens Blvd is made up of one ugly storefront after another.

  2. Hooray. Woo-hoo. Someone hurry up and get some confetti. I'll bring the balloons and cake.

  3. More importantly: did they have Doritos?

  4. Found an empty 7-11 soda cup on the sidewalk on Queens Blvd near 71 Road yesterday. What did I tell ya!

  5. (1) While I can't remember the last time I frequented a 7-Eleven, I don't think it's a horrible addition to that location. It's right by the subway and it may just end up stealing morning coffee traffic from Starbucks. It's not as if a fine dining establishment would have taken this location, and we really don't need yet another frozen yogurt location.

    (2) Speaking of frozen yogurt, Vanilla Sky cups have littered our streets and MacDonald Park since it opened. Is this Vanilla Sky's fault? Of course not. It's no more 7-Eleven's fault if coffee cups are left on the street. People are slobs. That's no justification, just a fact. Our area is in desperate need of more covered liter baskets -- something we all should be vocalizing to our local congresswoman, Grace Meng.

    (3) I agree that Queens Blvd is an eye-sore. If you're interested in helping to beautify the area feel free to join the Forest Hills Green Team! Email info@queensblvd.org for more information.

    Happy New Year all!

    2. Isn't it our Council Member's responsibility, not Congress', to deal with liter baskets?
