  1. What is it eating? A rat from MacDonad Park or some shellfish from the Greek restaurant perhaps? Cool shot!

    1. No, actually the photographer tells me it was a pigeon. (Blech)

    2. A couple of pigeon wings fell from the sky while I was walking down Junction Blvd last week. A lot of people walking were mortified. I figured it must have been a hawk or falcon that snatched it. Must have been the same pigeon.

  2. I hope the hawk is old enough to make it on its own

  3. Looks like a sharp skinned hawk.
They, along with red-tailed hawks nest over by the nature preserve around Willow Lake. Check out the Par Dolan Nature Trail that starts at 72 Road and Grand Central Pkwy. A number of bird species can be spotted there. Nice relaxing spot right in Forest Hills. Bring binoculars.
