Putting Lipstick on a Pig

That headline was contributed by a friend of mine....And it is kinda lipsticky isn't it?

And the photo below was contributed by a reader. Where would this blog be without all of you? It is indeed a community effort. Anyway, the soon-to-be Austin Public, former Flying Pig's makeover continues...

  1. I saw it later today and they painted the green trim black. I like the look.

  3. Ooh, I like the color and the new name. I'm bummed about the overkill on TVs, though. Why can't we just eat, drink, talk, and leave the one or two TVs for the bar?! I'd love it if they spruced up the music selection (live or not). Someone with eclectic taste needs to take over.

  6. Why the change? Did Dirty Pierre sue them for stealing the flying pig logo and theme?

  7. From that paint job, I think it is more likely that Queen's Tandoor finally decided to start opening locations in the U.S. Lord knows, the Pig was probably as noisy as any of Queen's locations. Not to mention, we could use a good Indian place.

  10. Was at Austin Public opening night (Friday) and i thought the food was awful. Service was eh. The calamari was over cooked (tough and chewy). Fish and chips was not evenly cooked and didn't come with and sauce (had to ask). Jerk chicken was tiny for the price and didn't have any kick or much flavor for that matter. Not impressed and will not return. Disappointed.
