In a statement, Mr. de Blasio called expanded broadband access “essential for everything we need to do to be a fair and just city,” adding that the system would be “the fastest and largest municipal Wi-Fi network in the world.”

Not de Blasio's idea. It was Bloomberg's a couple years back.
ReplyDeleteyay! free wi-fi! more distracted tech zombies walking the streets with their noses buried in their phones. use the money to fix the streets that are still riddled with pot holes from the past winter or repair sidewalks that city trees have destroyed, or reinvest into the education system that is in complete disarray.
