I just checked DOB records and there are no filings for permits to do work at the old Strawberry store on Austin Street. The formation of an LLC named Shake Shack Forest Hills in Delaware doesn't mean anything...yet.
it is one chain i don't mind seeing in forest hills but much better suited on metropolitan ave in the old sizzler location. parking + lower rent = no brainer.
I was walking down Austin St. 2 days ago and a construction guy came out of the old Stawberry location with a bag of cement on his shoulder and the woman walking in front of me asked him what it was going to be and he said "a bar."
Here's a link to the architect for this project: http://www.hbcarch.com/hbc/CLIENTS.html They do work for Shake Shack, but also Burger King and Senor Frog's. We'll see!
..... interesting....!!!

ReplyDeleteThere's not foot traffic on Metropolitan = no Shake Shack
ReplyDeleteThere is no foot traffic in Westbury on Old Country Rd... Shake Shack manages to exist. Miracle.
DeleteOh boy. Shake shack will not be good for my waist line!
ReplyDeleteTo be clear, it really doesn't compare with either of the two places mentioned.
