A New Destination for Chinese Food: Not Flushing, but Forest Hills
A corner of Queens better known for delis and pizza parlors has added a critical mass of new (and creative) Chinese restaurants.

ReplyDeleteHa the Times referred to Austin St retail as “Austin outlet stores”
ReplyDelete'Known for delis'? Please, NYT, please tell me where there's a good deli around here. Give me directions. I'll be there in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly a classic deli, but Cipollina makes some good sandwiches using really good meats and cheesees.
DeleteDelis???? When? Where? The last notable one closed a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been to Memories Of Shanghai yet?
ReplyDeleteYeah. It's pretty good. Pricey, but good
DeleteHope they will do a better job with the outdoor space than Tokyo Teriaki. So much potential but the former owner lacked imagination or was too cheap to invest in some plants. This could be so charming. If memories of Shanghai does not work out, someone please open up an outdoor café/beer garden.
DeleteSorry but most of the places that have recently opened in the last 2 years do not deliver the goods. The food is not amazing and certainly nothing to celebrate. You want good Chinese go to your local take out or to Flushing but these New chinese restaurants are good only if you do not have a good point of reference to compare them to.
ReplyDeleteSorry but I like good food and these restaurants are just not bringing their A game.
