Is this something to be excited about? Places like that add 0% to the vibe that the Austin St area should have. They’re right up there with Hear USA on Austin. Places that could easily be in discreet offices in buildings, rather than on what should be a hip, fun, walkable area with interesting shops and eateries, like Astoria. Instead, there’s one For Rent sign after the next and the only places that will be able to survive are medical, dental, banks, some chains. Not excited by the dermatology office, sorry, already tons to choose from in the area.

ReplyDeleteYears ago you could go to Austin Street to buy books, CDs, high-end clothing and shoes, etc.
Ahhh, the good old days.
The architectural design of this group of buildings is absolutely breathtaking.The finest example of ice cube tray dwelling design in recent memory.
