Village Voice Station House Article Says it All...

Doesn't it really capture the essence of our 'hood? Great article!

Forest Hills Station House Now Serving Beer and Whiskey in Queens
"After all, if someone tells you their grandmother lives in Queens, odds are Forest Hills is where she's raising hell--and she's doing it all before 10 p.m."
Ok, so maybe it's a little dated now that we have music concerts here!

  1. SHUT UP WITH STATION HOUSE ALREADY.

Someone is trying to upsell a business looking for profit using the media but enough is enough. Station House is absolutely NOTHING SPECIAL.

    1. I kind of agree with you that we're being fed a lot of press about Station House, but then, it is nice that there's a notable place in the area. I hope the success extends to all the other businesses in the neighborhood.

    2. One of the things I’ve learned about New Yorkers since I moved here is that some of you love to complain about the absurdist things. I have lived in forest hills for a couple years now and good press about anything in forest hills is good for business, property value and the life of the neighborhood. The fact that you read this blog means you have some interest in the neighborhood why are you angry about something good being written about it?

    1. So happy to see grandmothers reading my blog. I think you might be the first that I know of, though I bet there are quite a few more. :)

    2. Oh, wait, I forgot about my mom, who is a grandmother of quite a growing brood. How dare I!

  4. While some parts of Queens are considered up and coming, Forest Hills has been up for decades. With its historic housing, proximity to Forest Park, and commercial success of Metropolitan Avenue and Austin Street, the neighborhood serves as a sign of desirability for young couples and families looking for a laid-back lifestyle within city limits. GREAT PLUG FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD--I LOVE IT MAN!!!

  5. The person who said, "SHUT UP WITH STATION HOUSE ALREADY." doesn't seem to understand that despite whatever profit motives these articles have (for all we know they are all fake), they are still bringing attention to the neighborhood. The Village Voice is pretty big in NYC (especially around the NYU area), so articles (and advertisements) are key factors for our hood. I for one embrace it. Thanks for posting Drake.

  6. The article has an error, which may be significant for the beer lovers out there! Flying Pig also has a cask ale on offer at all times.

  7. If you own real estate in Forest Hills, you should cheer on any publicity like this. Go property values!
