Oddly, members who pay thousands per year for the club and the pool weren't allowed on the grounds this afternoon and evening. Lost the use of the facilities they pay through the nose for. In the past, they'd be allowed to wander grounds during concerts. The club blamed this on "security because the concert is happening at the time of the U.S. Open," but that's balderdash. They just wanted to make sure they could soak everyone for the ticket price and make sure members of the club didn't get "free" music.
The 3 bands and related crew had sole use of the clubhouse and grounds from 2pm-10pm. That is the deal the club struck when agreeing to this concert. Club members also had guaranteed tickets if they wanted to purchase them. It really wasn't a big deal, especially since the concert took place on a Wednesday. Members and guests had access to the outside bar at the club after the concert. The bands were still there as well.
