Nice concert for the geriatric crowd. I was one of the younger ones there. The band looked like they needed a nap halfway through. Great job by the NYPD in shuttling the crowd out of the gardens and onto Continental afterwards. Stationhouse was the biggest money maker in all this I'm sure.
I want to nap every time I hear a new song by Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber. The WHO may be old, but they knew how to write great songs, which is more than I can say for today's youth.
I was there, and it was fantastic. These guys can still rock, everything sounded great! This was my first concert there. I live near Yellowstone and approached from the west, arriving early to catch Joan Jett, and there was no line to get in, no line to get a wristband, no line to get a beer, I couldn't believe it! And such a lovely setting, with the stage flanked by trees, and the impressive Tudor tennis clubhouse in the distance. Can't wait to go back for something, maybe Santana. FOHI is just getting more awesome all the time...

ReplyDeleteHow unnecessarily mean. You seem like a delight.

DeleteI want to nap pretty much all the time, especially on a day like today. But I agree with you about The Who.
DeleteThey sounded awesome from my apartment on Queens blvd
ReplyDeleteNeil Degrasse Tyson was in attendance (I didn't see him, but he tweeted about it) and for some reason that excited me almost as much as the music. :)

DeleteIt was a stretch. Must hand it to The Who septuagenarians for the effort, however.
