Do we know anything about this developer? I hope the building is designed with the community in mind. The Astor (or whatever it is called) is a mess dotted with a few small balconies. The Windsor is decent enough, but nothing to write home about. We don't need any more ho-hum buildings. Please, please, no more buildings like the commercial nightmares that went up on 72nd. Total eyesores. Fo-Ho and Fo-Hum for sure.
I think the Windsor is very tasteful. They coordinated with the original limestone used for the other buildings on that block. What they did across the street was tragic -- tearing out all that beautiful limestone for the eyesore that is now the CVS Pharmacy should not have been allowed. As for the high rise itself, I don't love it -- would have been nice if it coordinated with the Windsor, but reality is, buildings of all different looks is what makes up big cities in this day and age.
Condos would be great!
ReplyDeleteFinally. That building was an eyesore. We will see more building on these side streets .

Any idea what's coming into the old Strawberry? It looks like they're working in there.

DeleteMany condos have been going up in Rego Park. If they start knocking down houses here we will see the same thing.
