Sterling Bank

I think someone had commented on this blog a while ago that Sterling Bank might be the next building up for redevelopment. I noticed these signs in the windows upstairs advertising office space. I can't confirm any plans to close the bank and develop the property, but I thought the fact that they're advertising for a new tenant may say something about any immediate plans or lack thereof. Or maybe it doesn't. Any way, food for thought.

  1. That's strange, they just updated their signs and awnings recently.

    1. I was going to point that out yesterday too. A couple of months back they put a ton of nasty old office furniture out in their garbage area, so I'm guessing they were clearing out the 2nd floor to rent it out. Too bad it's not residential, or I'd live there in a heartbeat.

  2. That would be HIGHLY surprising (and sad), if it were to be re-developed. Here's a fairly recent article on that structure - http://www.qchron.com/qboro/i_have_often_walked/a-masonic-temple-that-became-a-bank-in-forest-hills/article_aee7ac1e-c90b-5fbd-a758-05ca765cc66a.html
