New Music Festival Coming to Forest Hills: Aretha Franklin to Perform

I tweeted this a few days ago, but I think many folks in the area may have missed this exciting news:

City Winery is entering the festival circuit. The downtown Manhattan venue will present City Winery Open, a two-day music, food and wine festival featuring Aretha Franklin and Sheryl Crow, at Forest Hills Stadium Sept. 17-18.

    1. So, you only listen to acts if they're "popular?" I assume you're 15 years old.

    2. I have no idea how old this commenter is, but people of all ages should know that Aretha Franklin is a living legend. As such, many people consider her music to be timeless.

  4. Hats off to the promoters over at FH Stadium. They are doing a great job. They've done so much work over just the last 3 years.

  5. There have been numerous complaints that the lines for food and drink take an eternity. I hope the cashless arrangement they're implementing improves things for this festival!

  6. As of yesterday, Ticketfly started notifying people that this event has been cancelled. Apparently they realized that they need a lot more planning to pull this off. Another source mentioned that it has been postponed until next year. We'll see!

  7. Sorry to bum everyone out, but it looks like this isn't happening after all. According to the website, it appears to have been postponed one year - it's now set to happen in September, 2017.
