The site of the former Sterling Bank is now available. I posted about this a while ago, but I can see this being a cool, chic new restaurant like the former Blue Water Grill at Union Square which was also in a bank... Oh, and unrelated, but I think we have one more horrible weekend of our Express subways going local again, and then somewhat better...
There is some sort of construction going on inside of it now. Black paper is up covering all of the windows.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be clearing of the asbestos. Could be landlord doing the work before it it white-boxed/becomes leasable.
ReplyDeleteCord Meyer, who put up the new tower behind it, should be pushing for something outstanding for the space.
ReplyDeleteThe Tower Diner used to be bank. So I could see the former Sterling Bank bldg. also becoming a restaurant.
