Forest Hills Gardens Is a Favorite for TV and Film Production

Thanks to Michelle for sending in these photos from last year's filming of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in Forest Hills Gardens. Forest Hills seems to be a favorite filming locale for this show. They've shot here quite a few times.

By the way, I believe the upcoming HBO miniseries The Plot Against America also filmed around the neighborhood. Keep an eye out for Forest Hills locations when it begins airing on March 16th.

The Americans Filming in Forest Hills

No idea when this is happening. Or if it already did? But saw this all over 71st Road this afternoon. Anyone know? If anyone takes any photos of the shoot, please email them to: edgeofthecity@gmail.com. Thanks!

Some Law & Order for Parkway Hospital

Maybe not the kind of publicity our neighborhood would desire, but as they say, 'there's no such thing as bad!' Anyway, Forest Hills' abandoned Parkway Hospital was used as the location for the secret lair in a recent episode of the hit show Law & Order SVU (I do so resist writing Law & Order SUV every single time, which would be an interesting show indeed.)
Thanks to Andy for sending in the pic!

More Pics of The Blacklist Shoot Yesterday

Thanks to Catherine for these great pics! She also sent in a really good video. It's a lot of fun to see your neighborhood transformed into something else through the magic of filmmaking.

Photos of Today's The Blacklist Shoot

Among the surprises of today's shoot is that they transformed our charming French bakery La Boulangerie into some type of Russian cafe (at least I think that's what it is — I never watched the show! Let me know). Thanks very much to @coreynyc who provided some of these photos, including the Station Square ones. And he also discovered the telephone booth which looks like it may have been left behind. ( By the way, I left out the photo I took of the sleeping crewman in front of Boulangerie. Didn't want to get him in trouble. But I tell you, he was dead to the world! Must've been up quite early for the shoot. )
