I took a walk by today, they had their website listed.. Check it out. http://theforesthillsgrill.com. Inside looked pretty reputable! Let's get some reviews going!!
Well after I posted the link above I found the menu. Go to the website and click on the top right corner. WOAH with the prices. Is that for real? The only thing reasonable is the salad. Won't be eating here anytime soon.
I agree that the prices are way too high! It's sad but this will be yet another restaurant I won't be able to afford. I know I'm not the only one in FH that works for a living. Most of my neighbors are the same, making under 6 figure salaries. I'm wondering who patronizes such high priced places, people that are really making a hefty salary, or people that are just living paycheck to paycheck and spending their money on food and fun, instead of saving for their retirement?
No one will patronize them at this pricing, and they'll die a quick death. Maybe, if they're lucky, they'll last till 2015. No one is going to pay $30 for shish kebab when you can go to the stand on Continental and buy a gyro for $5, or go to Agora or Corfu and get one for a few bucks more. Sorry, but this is just another experiment doomed to fail.
Prices are totally outrageous! They make no sense! Shish Kebab for $29??? Are they nuts? They will not make it unless they drop their prices by at least 25% I'm insulted.
did anyone else notice that its only 1 kebab for $30+?!? it says guaranteed to fill you up, but really at that price.. 1. I'm not going there and 2. you could at least give me more than one even if I'm full!! If I'm going to spend that kind of money for dinner I'll spend it in Manhattan at my fav places not there for 1 Kebab sorry friends!!
There were some typos like "screwer" so maybe the prices are incorrect? If these are the true prices though then they will be out of business before they open their door! Aren't the best kebabs in FH being served at some Russian/Uzbek/kosher places already? Think Arzu and Styx on Queens Blvd near 67th road. Great food at very reasonable prices, though not much decor or ambience.
Was there a sign up stating they're closed for good? If they are permanently out of business, I really hope we getter a better chain restaurant like the Cheesecake Factory, Grand Lux Cafe or even the pricier Ruth Chris or Morton's steakhouses. We are soon going to have to compete with 3 new chains opening close to the Queens Mall area: Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden and Joe's Crab Shack.
any idea what the menu will look like?

ReplyDeleteI'm insulted.
I have no problem with prices in the high 20's and 30's for an entrée if it is worth it. I really hope this place is worth the money - but from a quick glane at the menu I do not see anything that really warrants those high prices except for making rent... I really hope I am wrong as I like the modern interior. Looks like a great bar to grab a nice cocktail. Speaking of, when are we getting a great classy cocktail joint? Something along the lines of Pegu on Houston.

DeleteIf it must be a chain (which I imagine it will be given the HUGE size) Ruth Chris would be a great choice!
